Privacy Policy

This is the main New Orleans Virtual Concierge website. It is one of the New Orleans Virtual Concierge sites at neworleansvirtualconcierge.com and its hotel addresses, all operated by Pelican New Orleans (“we” or “us”). This policy explains what these sites collect, how we use it and the choices you have.

Information you give us

• Contact form. Your name, email address, phone number and message, the page you sent it from, the time you sent it, your IP address and your browser and device type. We use it to reply to you and help plan your visit. It reaches our team by email through our email service provider.
• Chat and text messages. Chats with our concierge team run on Birdeye, and text messages go to our concierge phone line. We use what you send to answer you and to arrange the bookings and reservations you ask for.
• Tour bookings. Bookings are completed in a secure checkout provided by Singenuity, the booking system our tour companies use, and card payments are processed by Square. We never receive or store your card details. The tour company you book with receives your booking details so it can provide your tour.

Information collected automatically

• Google Analytics. The pages you view, the hotel site you are on, the features you use (for example tapping a Book button, starting a chat, sending the contact form or tapping a phone number), how you arrived, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (city level) worked out from your IP address. It uses cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to recognise a returning browser. Google signals and ad personalisation are turned off, and we do not use this information for advertising. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics cookies are not set and Google receives only cookieless measurements. Our analytics also receives a short report when part of the site fails to work, with email addresses and phone numbers removed.
• Completed bookings. When you finish a booking, the checkout may report the order number, the total, any promo code used and the tours booked to our analytics, so we can see which hotel sites lead to bookings.
• The booking checkout’s tags. The checkout is run by Singenuity for our tour companies, Cajun Encounters and Seven Three Distilling, which are also owned by Pelican New Orleans. It loads their analytics and advertising-measurement tags from Google, Microsoft and Meta, which may set cookies and tell those companies when a booking follows one of our ads. Singenuity also measures use of its checkout with Google Analytics.
• Chat window.Birdeye’s chat window loads on every page, so Birdeye receives your IP address, browser details and the page you are on even if you never open a chat, and may store information in your browser.
• Speed measurements. On the sites where it is switched on, Vercel Speed Insights records how quickly pages load for visitors. It does not use cookies.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider, Vercel, records IP addresses, browser types and the pages requested, which we use to keep the site secure and working.
• Maps and other content.Pages with maps load Google Maps, which receives your IP address and how you use the map, under Google’s privacy policy. Some listings show images hosted by others, such as event artwork, whose servers receive your IP address when your browser loads them.
• Your browser’s storage. Some features keep settings in your browser, such as saved favorites or your progress through a booking. That information stays on your device.

How we use information

To answer your questions and provide concierge services; to help you book tours, dining and activities; to understand which hotel sites, pages and features guests use, and which lead to bookings, so we can improve them; to find and fix problems; to keep the sites secure; and to meet our legal obligations.

How we share information

• Service providers that run parts of the site for us: Vercel (hosting and, on some sites, speed measurements), Google (Analytics, Maps and our analytics data storage), Birdeye (chat), Singenuity and Square (booking and payment) and our email service provider. They may use the information only to provide their services.
• Tour companies receive the details of bookings you make with them.
• Advertising platforms(Google, Microsoft and Meta) receive information from the booking checkout’s tags, as described above.
• When required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our guests, our business or others, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of our business.

We do not sell your personal information. Apart from the booking checkout’s advertising-measurement tags described above, nothing on these sites shares it for advertising.

Your choices

• You can block or delete cookies, or turn on your browser’s tracking protection, which also limits the checkout’s advertising tags. You can also install Google’s Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing webdev@pelicanneworleans.com. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law; we will respond as that law requires and will not treat you differently for asking.

How long we keep information

Contact form messages and chats are kept as long as we need them to help you and for our business records. Google Analytics keeps event-level data for 14 months; copies we export for our own reports are kept until we delete them. Server logs are kept according to our hosting provider’s retention periods.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections, to protect the information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children

These sites are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Visitors from outside the United States

We and our service providers process information in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
